I suggest a simple social experiment to prove that Satyagraha (The Force of Truth and Love) still works today. If you are daring, please participate in the positive petition today to help stimulate job growth worldwide to stop the global recession of 2009. Please try it even if you do have work at the moment. If enough people try it, it will work. If it does work and leaders respond, then we can use it again on other issues. Change requires taking action, this action is simple (it is a six word focused thought or prayer), this change will bring hope to many.

If you have a Facebook group, blog, or a website, please copy this message below with the exact same words so that Google Search engines will pick it up and it will become a Positive Petition. You may want to add your own email address if you wish, you may also add information on the skills you have to offer, you may also add which city you are in. The message will be picked up by the search engines (currently there are no search results for this phrase!) and the media can use the message as a global headline. This will change the focus of the world in a positive and constructive direction. Global Satyagraha for Peace and Prosperity

A Special Event on Sept 11, 2009 To Commemorate M K Gandhi

On September 11, 1906, in Johannesburg(South Africa) ,the greatest weapon of social transformation was coined and tested by one of the greatest men of peace to have ever lived: M.K Gandhi. The Satyagrahi achieves his/her goals through the conversion of one's adversaries with courageous compassion, rather than defeating them with violent force. The end is never separated from the means and peace is only achieved with peaceful means and intention. The adversary becomes a friend. It is a weapon of the strong and should never be forgotten. The principle of Satyagraha ("Soul Force" or "Truth Force") can be applied for helping us achieve personal and global objectives. It is the only method I know of that, when applied, will make any possible adversary respect you more with time.

1. RECESSION PREVENTION STRATEGY:
Using Fiscal Policy: (e.g. people earning less than the poverty level in their country should not pay income tax at all.)
Preventing fraud: (e.g. Create a secure and transparent system for people to report fraud to the government and to the media)
Anti-Recession and Recession Survival Groups should be started in all communities and maintained even when the recession is over.

2. PREVENTIVE HEALTH SERVICES:
During a recession health services, usually the largest governmentnt expense, become less available. But a healthy economy requires healthy and resilient people. It is critical that basic services stay available to all but the focus should be on an elaborate FREE PREVENTIVE HEALTH PROGRAM where there is no waiting. Alternative health services should become more accessible since they are less costly, less dependent on patented medications and less equipment-dependent.

3. FREE TRAVEL TO JOB RICH REGIONS :
To follow the jobs, unemployed should be given a ONE-MONTH NATIONAL RAIL PASS with a clear itinerary in exchange for services. Unused airmiles should also be donated to help jobless travel to cities that need specific workers (like Saskatchewan). FREE TRAINING WORKSHOPS & FREE PREVENTIVE HEALTH PROGRAM will be taught here in a corporate sponsored rail car called PROSPERITY. I am currently organizing a motorcoach business bus tour to Saskatchewan for job seekers (Departure location is Ottawa) Contact me for details on this Trans-Canada Prosperity Bus Tour.

4. FOCUSED COMMUNICATION CARD:
Homeless and Unemployed should be given a 3-month government FOCUSED COMMUNICATION CARD (Internet, local & distance calls). Communications should be focused on increasing personal and community prosperity. These cards should function in all cities within a country. I am currently negotiating for such a free card in a pilot project.

5. FREE HOUR TRANSIT:
There should be a nation-wide pre-rush-hour & post-rush-hour time period that allows all passengers a ticketless ride (FREE TRANSIT HOURS), at least during a recession. This will significantly reduce traffic congestion, reduce pollution, attract tourism, while increased passenger count will help local businesses. No card will be needed for this. I will be approaching a number of cities in Canada to discuss this possibility.

6. SAFE SHELTER FOR ALL:
Vacant buildings (government & corporate) should somehow be used to help the homeless get TEMPORARY SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS until they find a home and help the jobless have MEETING ACCOMMODATIONS until they find work. Insurance companies should also help make this beneficial to space lenders. Furniture companies, mattress and linen companies can participate.

7. CAFETERIA MEAL CARDS:
Homeless and Unemployed should be given a 3-month GOVERNMENT CAFETERIA MEAL CARD (used in cafeterias of hospitals, universities, and at the government department of employment) OR GROCERY CARD.

8. PRACTICAL EDUCATION:
FREE TRAINING WORKSHOPS should be made available and be sponsored by corporations. The unemployed should share their strengths and also train each other.

9. TRADE:
BARTER IS BETTER than charity and should be facilitated with few government regulations.

10. Alternative Work:
Alternative work practices should be taught: Job-carving, job-sharing, ghost-working

11. SPIRITUALITY:
Places of worship and meditation should be open longer than 2 hours a week and should encourage community networking.

12. IDENTITY AND HOME ADDRESS:
The homeless should be given a PERMANENT MAILING ADDRESS so they can have a driver's permit & vote. They should also have a public voice and select their own representative. They should have the right to sponsorship.

13. EQUALITY:
All persons must be treated equally.

The People's Prosperity Parties

Let's party the recession out of our regions! I have now prepared different formats of my Peoples' Prosperity Parties depending on the mix of participants (entrepreneurs, jobseekers, philanthropists, building owners, students, seniors, immigrants, ambassadors, spiritual leaders, media). The primary purpose of my FREE HOME-PARTIES is to motivate people to do simple things that can help them survive the recession, its secondary purpose is to stop the recession regionally, the tertiary purpose is to reinvigorate the spirit and value of community. Currently I only host these events in the Ottawa and Gatineau area, and all I require is a pot of coffee and meeting space for a minimum of 15 people, but a maximum of 55 people. If the parties become more popular I will consider traveling to other locations. I will soon be posting a YouTube video of the shortest format of these parties for the benefit of my international friends. The Golden Rule Can Change the World

Do Unto Others... If we treated others the way we wish to be treated, I believe the whole world could change for the better. For instance, if you wish someone would help you find a job, then help someone else find a job. Regardless if you are successful or not in finding them work, the other person will respect you for trying and the very process of searching for work for someone else can actually help you improve your own job search. Imagine what would happen if just one hundred people actually applied the Golden Rule.
